A native of Atlanta, I have lived in Western North
Carolina since 1991. My avocation for photography
and enthusiasm for running rivers spawned a career as a
professional photographer and a photography
business that has been based in Asheville since 1998.
Along the way, I spent nine years on the technical side of Sports
Illustrated magazine, photographed hundreds of weddings, started a successful
postcard and poster wholesale business and led over a dozen river trips
through the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River. I am still involved in
photography, shooting a dozen weddings and events each year; to view my

I live in South Asheville with my wife Donna Lane and our two cats, Miles and
Ruby. We enjoy seeing live music, films, hiking and great coffee. I am actively
involved in the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and am a member of the
Asheville South Rotary Club.
Last year, I added "Insurance" to my resume. I have been working as a Life &
Health agent for a national company, specializing in working with business
owners. I joined Trout Insurance Services to offer a greater variety of carriers
to meet the needs of my clients.
