Ladies and Gentlemen:

Having met David Trout in high school, when we both lived in Tampa Bay, I was
pleased to meet with him for lunch after so many years to catch up on old times
and the people we both know.  During our meeting I mentioned to him how hard it
seems for a business owner with a family to cover all the bases necessary with
proper insurance. I remember telling him how I often feel like I’m in a boat with a
million holes trying to plug them all with chewing gum!

Knowing that people my age are around three times more likely to be the victim of
disability or catastrophic illness than they are to die or be killed, I mentioned to
him that with the responsibilities I have to the staff, family and lenders, I felt a bit
vulnerable in that area. I had lots of life insurance, but as the sole breadwinner of
the family, our modest wealth and the lifestyle of our entire family could be at risk
if I became disabled!  Worse yet, my condition might create a financial burden on
them all.

David understood where I was coming from and suggested that he could offer me
a policy that would cover the costs of operating the business for up to 18 months
if I became disabled.  This would at least allow my wife time to figure out if I would
be coming back to work or whether she needed to sell the business. David also
suggested he could offer a catastrophic illness policy that would pay if I got
cancer or had a heart attack.  I signed up for both.

Wouldn’t you know it . . . about 12 months after purchasing these policies . . .  I
HAD A HEART ATTACK at just 52 years old!  I remember spouting off instructions to
my wife as they were wheeling me off to the operating room with tears in my eyes,
not knowing if I’d die on the operating table or have the massive stroke the
doctors warned me of. As being a possibility . . . “April has the trusts and the
insurance policies . . . sell everything, you don’t need the stress . . . and . . . I love
you.”

Well, obviously, I lived to tell about it!  But I want you to know how great it was to
get the money from Mutual of Omaha for the catastrophic illness claim.  I wasn’t
so great that I would recommend having a heart attack over it, but nonetheless, it
was great!

I sincerely believe that those of you who your own business, a family and some
debt take a long hard look at filling such voids in their insurance coverage with
policies similar to the ones I purchased from Dave.

One last thing . . . I want you to know that David was in regular contact with Mutual
of Omaha headquarters throughout the claims process.   He worked as my liaison
throughout the process in order to be sure that the claim was processed as
expeditiously as possible.  He’s a fine man who knows his business and takes his
responsibilities very seriously.

Thank you.
